Established in 1998, Martin Architects provides licensed architectural services, interior design, furniture design, House and site evaluating and Master planning. The team offers the skills and experience of a large firm, while providing the personal service, motivation, and responsiveness associated with a boutique practice.
Working on modernist projects to historic, MA specializes in high-end residential, commercial and institutional design. Projects have been undertaken throughout New York State-including the Hamptons and New York City-as well as Connecticut, New Jersey, Baltimore, Costa Rica, Portugal and the Caribbean.
The practice has long-standing working relationships with a wide range of skilled consultants, and a record of delivering quality design and construction on time and within budget.
Martin Architects does not limit designs to any single project type, preferring rather to tailor proposals to the unique requirements of individual clients and their project conditions.
NICK MARTIN, AIA, Principal has formed a versatile office that creatively responds to the aesthetic and technical demands required to conceive and realize large, small, residential, commercial, and pro bono projects.
Nick maintains an Architectural AIA, Contracting and real estate license.
He fulfills a commitment to the environment through green practices, I committed to the arts, and cultural institutions through involvement in environmental and cultural institutions. Nick runs an artist and active music studio.
Board involvements include: Co-Chair's the Sagaponack Architectural Historic Review, the environmental group South Fork Mueseum and serves on the Long House board.
Nick was introduced to the discipline of architecture at Harvard's undergraduate Architecture Discovery program, and honored with first design excellence. He then attended Pratt Institute, was awarded several traveling fellowships throughout europe, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
He continued his professional experiences with Gwathmey Siegel, Gabellini Sheppard and Associates, and Wood and Zapata. Awarded projects with others include private residences for clients such as Michael Dell and Barbara Streisand, MTV Corporate Headquarters, Steuben Glass gallery/museum, gallery spaces, and the New York flagship store for Nicole Farhi. Nick established Martin Architects In the Hamptons, focusing on high-end residential projects, retail, and gallery spaces internationally. Subsequently, 4MA Builders was established as a sister company to ensure high quality synchronicity on selected construction of projects.
From inception, Martin Architects incorporates environmentally sensitive design materials and building methods into each of its projects.
This involves the integration of energy efficient systems and design, geothermal, energy star practices, active and passive solar design, and the use of recycled and/or sustainable materials.
MA maintains a membership with the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

Senior Architect / Project Manager
Position will be responsible for management of projects including 1-2 design teams, communication and coordination with clients, and overall guidance of objectives and concepts. Regular field visits required. Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal. Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience.
Successful candidates will have proven leadership shills, an excellent sense of design, and supervisory experience. Extensive CA/CD experience required.
Intermediate Architect / Designer
We are currently seeking intermediate architects and designers to join our rapidly expensing team. Successful candidates will be self starters with an excellent sense of design. Other qualifications include:
- BArch degree or similar is required
- Minimum 5 years residential design experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must be a team player
- Knowledge of Vectorworks is a plus but not required
